This week our big assessment was writing an email. I decided to write it to an actual person, my German exchange partner from highschool:

Dear Ina, I am writing to you as a German language exercise for a course. I have a lot of time in "iso", so I'm learning German again :)

How are you? Do you still live in Austria or did you go back to Fürstenfeldbrück? How are you with your parents (and your cat)? Sorry, I haven't sent you TimTams in a few years! I will send you many for Christmas. What's your address again?

What are you doing in "iso" now? I cook a lot. I am learning to make noodles and they are delicious! I'm worried that the pasta on the shop tastes bad to me now ... Yesterday I made my first "Caprese Salad". It was easy because it's just cutting and not cooking. I always remember your mother's Caprese salad that she prepared for us when I first stayed with you.

I am looking forward to your response! We haven't spoken in too long. smile Karen

Dear Karen, You used a large vocabulary and didn't make many mistakes. Your spelling and sentence structure are very good. You made a few mistakes with the dative and accusative but this is minimal and not bad! Very good! Annie
